Back in October, 2010 President Barack Obama was feeling his
oats. His Democrat party had won a majority in both the House and the Senate. Democrats
were ramming every piece of legislation they could through the system as fast
as they can – Obamacare and the Stimulus package (aka the Porkulus package because
of all the Porkbarrel expenditures it included to Democrat cronies and
sympathetic industries) being two of the most notorious.
So, back then a very cocky Obama had the nerve to lecture
his opponents on “civility” and “bipartisanship.” But Obama’s definition of
bipartisanship back then (and has been through today) is Republicans sign off
on everything Democrats want and Dems tell Republicans to stuff whatever GOP
efforts are attempted. So, in his arrogance, His Highness Obama told a
Woonsocket Rhode Island audience that as for bipartisan “reform,” Republicans “can
come for the ride, but they gotta sit in the back.”*
I just find it interesting that in the post-GOP victories
from this weeks’ midterm elections – that resulted in GOP majorities now in both the House and the Senate, no GOP
leadership nor any conservative talk show host has brought this arrogant, snide
and childish comment up from Obama’s past.
