We’ve all been wondering when the libs were going to stop saying everything wrong is
Bush’s fault. This week we saw the apparent end of blaming Bush for all that’s
wrong. And it came from a surprising source – conservative [allegedly]
commentator George Will. According to Will, the fault for Obama’s run amok-ness
is…wait for it…founding father James Madison’s fault.

Thaaat’s right; none other than the “Father of the Constitution,” the man who introduced
the Bill of Rights to the Constitution in 1791, James Madison.

Why? Because of this thing called the “Separation of Powers [doctrine]” which keeps
the executive, legislative and judicial powers in Washington each “checked and
balanced” by the others. The whole idea was to prevent abuse(s) or power by any
one or a combination of the three.

So far, so good. But here’s where Will’s thoughts on the matter jumped the tracks this
past week on Fox News Sunday; he points out that Conservatives who are upset at
Mitch McConnell and John Boehner (the 2 Republican majority leaders in both Houses
of Congress) “because they sent all these Republicans to Washington and still
can’t work their will from Congress.” He says we should instead be angry at
James Madison…. “We have the Separation of Powers [doctrine], which is there for a reason… has served us well over time and is an impediment to getting things done in Washington. Get over it.”

George, George, George, George, George…. Really?? Seriously?? Through the years, I’ve enjoyed your dry-witted political commentary and your analysis of the game of baseball, but – one Cubs fan to another, dude – I think you’re “losing it” when you say such idiotic things.
Constitutional Conservatives are upset at John Boehner and Mitch McConnell for just rolling over and surrendering on every destructive act and practice of the Obama Administration – Obamacare, his hiring and firing corporate CEOs from the Oval Office during his 2009 corporate “bailout” program, umpteen recess appointments and Executive Orders, his dictating to Congress what they will and will not do (“I have a pen and a cell phone”), and – worst of all, promising to the American people that if we gave you the majority in both houses of Congress that you’d put a stop to this destructive crap and Obama’s abuses of and flagrant disregard for the Executive Powers Clause of the Constitution.
Instead, the voters gave the Republicans the requested majorities in landslide numbers again in 2014. And what did Boehner and McConnell do? Before that majority had even been seated in either House, Boehner was already surrendering the House of Representative’s Constitutionally -granted power of the purse and just recently both Boehner and McConnell surrendered the Constitutional power to approve treaties (both the Cuba and the Iran
That's what Conservatives are upset about, Mr. Will. It's not the fact that nothing's getting done in Washington. It's the fact that Obama is accomplishing so much of his destructive agenda with absolutely no substantive, menaingful resistance from the GOP. You remember the GOP; they're the majority party in both halves of Congress. They just don't act like it.

Therefore, Mr. Will; please don’t pretend to be qualified to lecture us on only one part of the U.S. Constitution saying we are channeling voter anger and frustration incorrectly while ignoring the absolute appalling violations of the Constitution by a run amok president and the spinelessness of the “leadership” of the party of opposition – the majority party made such to put an end to those very same abuses.
on baseball.
